Default Help with mounting a small safe on rear floor

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is anything under the rear floor, drivers side, center partially under the seat. I want to mount a small safe and didn't want to drill until I got more info.

Thanks
Larry

Larry, if you'll simply jack up the rear side of your car as though you were going to change the tire, but then slide under it and you'll very quickly answer your own question, up close and personal. You would have to get under there anyway during your install ( if indeed you can fit it in) so doing so will give you some idea of what you'll be up against during the install.

Use a jackstand if you have one.

I was going to use the safe company self taping screws right on the floor board.
I will jack it up and look.
Thanks

remove the seat, jack up the car, mount an 1/8" or thicker steel plate under the floorboard. it should be at least 1" larger than the safe in all directions. you bolt this through the floor with carriage bolts with the round heads facing down and the threaded parts inside the actual safe. if i wanted your safe and it was held in with self tapping screws i'd be laughing at your stupidity while i pried it out with a flathead screwdriver. don't be lazy. take the time to do it right. seriously.

floors are soft. hell i'll cut a whole car up and have it in the back of the van in two hours. think about it.

I don't think I would even "hint" what would go in a safe box like that on an open forum?
