Red face Timing Belt Replacement....

I have almost 90k on my 2007 convertible, and I checked my owner's manual and the maintenance service and can't find anything about when the timing belt should be replaced. I am sure it has to be prior to hitting 100k. Thanks!

In my 2007 PT Cruiser Convertible owners manual it says that the timing belt should be replaced at 102,000 miles. Its under maintenance schedule if you look in the back of the manual.

And the other wearable components under the front cover, you don't want to have to tear into there again!

Cool Re: Timing Belt Replacement....

Personally, especially after seeing a few recent posts here about bent valves, I would not let any of my Cruisers go past 90K with replacing the timing belt, water pump, and tensioners.
Then's also a good time to access the motor mounts!
Bought a used Dream Cruiser last fall with 93K! Did the timing belt the first thing!

My 2003 Dream Cruiser with 82,000 miles is in the shop waiting for me to go get it. Timing belt, water pump and 3 motor mounts replaced at just under $1,500. Yikes!

That's about the going price. Did they replace the tensioner, idler pulley, cam and crank seals while they were in there?

Yeah, like rckstein said, that's about right. Paid $1306 to have the timing belt kit (including tensioner and idle pulley), water pump, ac and alt belts, and upper and lower mounts done on my '05 Vert GT. Didn't do the camshaft or crank seals or the 3rd engine mount, though...
