Default Poor PT GT Convertable Blown Headgasket

This ol girl has 60000miles and is blowing white smoke, No heat, etc.
The thing looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. Under the hood. Never seen a winter.

What color is that? It looks almost copper in the photo.

And on the head gasket, I looked at many inexpensive PT's before buying my 2001 Limited. And I got to experience several blown head gaskets. These were all early NA cars and cheap for a reason. But the common theme was that I could drive them several miles, then the coolant would all blown out. And of course, overheating would then begin because the coolant was gone.

Do you plan to do the work yourself?

Does your PT Cruiser have a turbo?

Yes. I sold my little red 2001 Limited and bought the "linen gold" 2005 GT you see in my footer. All GT's have the turbo engine.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Looks like you have taken good care of your PT. Hopefully you will be able to handle without too much expense. Could not have happened at a worse time of year as you are in convertible weather.

Yeah, this is a close friend of the Family's PT. We are going to fix it up for him though. He was dissapointed due to the low mileage, but stuff like this happens.
I'm not sure of the color, Kinda Champagne like.

Have you verified oil pressure is not excessive?
Too much oil can pressurize the turbo bearing housing if the gravity fed drainback cannot keep up. This pressurization will force the oil past the turbine shaft piston seals and into the exhaust.

I haven't yet. The smoke is white, No heat to the cabin, and its draining the rad. Amazingly though, Nothing is getting down to the bottom end according to the Dipstick, But Ill. Know more when we drain it.
