Thanks CREWZIN ! Question : is oil leaking from the valve cover seal is a common PT Cruiser problem ? It's hardly noticeable, but it's there...

Welcome,

My '06 PT GT convertible is a little newer than yours but my valve cover does not leak {yet}

My former neighbor bought a 2010 base model which is newer than mine and it leaks a lot. I keep telling him to get the gaskets and I will help install them, after all I have the tools needed.

Thank you all !

My observations after a few months of ownership :

The good :

- Comfort : Much better than expected. My previous car was a SAAB 9-5 which was VERY comfortable. This one is no worse. The suspension is spot on, the seats are excellent. With the roof up, it feels just like a normal car.

- Build quality : The car has a very solid feeling, seems like it's been put together very well. No squeaks, rattles. Since I've been owning the car for only a few months, I can't really comment on reliability. However, the only thing that wasn't working (and still doesn't) when I bought the car is the remote trunk opening.

- Image : Quirky. Some say it's one the ugliest cars ever made, but I like (almost) all of it. It stands out. Turns heads. A class of its own. It's a rare sight on this side of the pond. Here in Austria, at any given moment there are no more than 10 (!) cabrios for sale - and that's a country of more than 8 million. You definitely stand out of the crowd in one of these.

The bad :

- Fuel consumption : Rather high for a 4 cylinder normally aspirated engine with 143 BHP. Way too high, and not just to current standards : ten years ago too...

- Turning radius : That of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. Horrible.

- Visibility : Crap. Roof up or down. Side mirrors are good though.

The ugly :

- The tail : I'm still struggling to like that part.

Regards,
SAABie13
