Default Green scunge on my convertible top?

Since I live in Vancouver, BC, aka Lotusland, we all know how damp and moody it is around here.

On my convertible top, below the rear window, there's green scunge staining it. Aside from a scrub brush and good old elbow grease (and that doesn't really work that well) anyone know any magic tricks to get that crap off?

I'm surprised I haven't had issues with leaks here.

I remember having an old VW Rabbit convertible years ago, and that thing leaked like a sieve, so much so I took to calling the inch deep puddle in the floor behind the front seat Lake Karmann. Heh.

Scrubbing is a requirement. Just done a real bad one with good results. I used a cleaner called awesome. Found at many dollar stores and others. Mixed with water. I presoaked the bad areas then wetted down a section with the mix. And scrubbed green and black areas first. The gently scrubbed the rest. Rinse well and reapply as needed. Once clean use some convertible top products to finish off to condition and protect your top.

I was gonna use scotch gard to protect it since before the winter I used it to protect the rest of the canvas.... the water beads right off. But I didn't wanna use scotch gard on the green goo.

I'm in Canuckistan.... where would I find this awesome cleaner?

Not sure. It's a great cleaner and very reasonable price. Gleans upholstery hard plastic ect. Try grocery stores dollar type stores. Not sure what you have there.

I have a bunch of Castrol Super Clean in the purple bottle but I don't dare try that on it since it took the enamel off the corner of my air hockey table but I imagine something from one of the aftermarket parts stores will do as long as it doesn't have the same warnings Tal-Strip does.

The stuff I suggested doesn't harm glass or paint. Try googling totally awesome cleaner. So you can see it. Then you can do a search in your area. No computer here. So I can help you as much as I would like.

Trust me, I appreciate all the help I can get!

If I can find a cleaner, I might just pay the landlord's kid to scrub it. I've got carpal tunnel and it's not much fun to use elbow grease

Try some white vinegar. It's an excellent cleaner.
