Default Transmission and multiple sensor issues

Hey guys, my girl friend just got a 2006 convertible pt cruiser automatic transmission. Im having a hard time dealing with an intermittent transmission issue. the car runs like a champ when it wants to. However, and seems to be related to heat, the transmission wont shift, the temperature gage wont work, and the battery loght comes on. I have checked and cleaned ground connections coming off of battery. I have also replace the speed input and output sensors which helped the transmission alot. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be great.
Forgot to mention, previous owner had the computer replaced but i have reason to believe its either a reman or from a scrap car. Thanks!

Have you taken the Pt Cruiser to a transmission shop that can see if there are any transmission codes. You need to stop replacing parts as you don't know if the new parts are good and might make the issue worse.

We can help you diagnose the problem once you find out if there are any codes we need to be aware of. Post if you know of any codes that has been triggered since the issue has started.

When you cleaned the grounds, did you remove the bolt and wire brush the eyelet then bolt it back on the fender?
I cut off the eyelet and strip wires to clean copper, attach pairs of the smaller wires to new eyelets,
attach larger wires to the old eyelet after cleaning and crimping them and solder the wires to the eyelet... Then reattaching them to the fender.

In your case you may also want to remove the harness connector to the transmission and make sure the inside of the connector is clean and dry.

Also check the wiring harness from the alternator located under the exhaust manifold to make sure it is attached and not rubbing on the axle.

I personally don't like the cutting the ends off. Just clean them well and all the points of contact. All the way to the end of the cable. Just follow it to the next juncture. Same with the positive. Have you charging system load tested at the parts store. low voltage can cause you some code issues. After this I would clear all codes and see what reoccurs. The computer is vin specific and marred to the key. So has to be a reman or new. Probably not the problem to begin with.
