Default 2005 PT Verte with top leak.

HELP!! I have a leak that seems to run in between the top to the passenger send them it comes POURING inside car, leaving pass seat, floorboard (front and back) with PUDDLES! !!

If you fell inside of top it is not wet,yet you can clearly see it pouring inside car. Only happens in driving rain or after a good soaking rain.

Is there a seal I should be checking?

Thank you ahead of time!

Opps.... I thought you had a sedan PT

The seal you see around the glass when it is in a closed position is the only thing to slow water infiltration.
The sunroof should be almost flush with the roof of the car when closed.
The sunroof tracks and cross braces act as gutters for water to flow out drains on each corner of the sunroof tracks.
The downspouts ( drains) may be clogged

Sorry, My mistake, Never had a Vert. You must have a seam pulling apart for the leak, probably nothing you can do on the cheap. Might be new top time.

I would not know where to start on that, other than to check the main front seal. I'm sorry I wish I could be more help.

Hi, I am having the EXACT issue as you. Have you found out anything to check? My car has now started to do same thing on drivers side sporadically. I am thinking it is the gutter that runs length of windshield and where the top sit's when closed, like a drawbridge , but it is not sealing properly. Maybe, stretched out?

I thought it had something to do with the lovely cut someone decided I needed in my top. But now that I read your post, I am beginning to think it just happened to start around same time. When I look at it, it does seem like it isn't sitting in the track quite right.

Good luck, and please share any info you have come across!!

I don't know where you live, but you need to find a good body shop to take it to and have it checked there. Sounds to me like it's time for a new top and seals.

There are drain tubes running down both A-pillars. The number one cause of your problem is a blocked drain tube.

I have been leaning towards the drain tunes being clogged. I am going to try and blow them out today.

Yes, I do need a new top, thanks to a HUGE JACKASS, that thought slashing 12 tires and my top a good idea! Thankfully, only 1 of his cuts went completely thru and it isn't even 1/4 inch spot. So, I have been putting it off in fear of the cost alone. I do body work and upholstery, on a much smaller scale. I work on motorcycles, so the car top is a little intimidating for me to tackle myself.
