Default Getting at the top motor.

No getting any answer on my last HELP ME! post, so starting a new one. Top slowly started losing 'ooomph'. Tried the bleed and raise top manually, which worked for one cycle. No sign of fluid leakage, and both sides are even. I'm assuming I have a slow leak somewhere in the system, and want next to try and top off the reservoir.

So, what needs to be removed to get the cover off the top well? I know the rear headrests, after that?

Or maybe I should just get out the Dremel and make a removable hatch in the middle of the tray.

The top motor and windshield washers are the only things on my cheap vert that donʻt work perfectly. I'm tired of driving a soft-top coupe', and want the sky back!

Having never owned a vert, I can't help you on this one. BUT as far as your squirters not working, have you tried direct wiring the motor on the fluid reservoir and seeing if it works? If it does, then it's either a fuse or wiring issue. If not, then take it apart and clean it. It has tiny brushes in it, so they may be worn out.

How do you get to it? Seems buried under the windshield cowl and all the engine accessories.

Mahalo nui loa to all the threads I gleaned the info from. So, to rehash for others.

You do NOT need to removseats, headrests, etc. Remove felt top well cover (1st pull off rhe velcro headliner attaches). Remove the foam padding.

Drill a small pilot hole in the top of the reservoir. We used a hand vac held at the bit to suck up spoilage). Drill a larger hole 1/4" +/-, using vac.

Top off hydaulic fluid, plug hole tightly with a small rubber stopper ($0.30 @ Ace).

With the bleed valve open, cycle the top a couple of times. Close valve.

Put the top down and go for a ride

We'll see how long it goes before repeat. Again, thanks for the help.
