Default blind spots

[8)]Well so far I've had the ragtop for 4 weeks and the only thing I don't like is the total lack of vision to the rear. Doesn't matter if the top is up or down you can't see squat out the back. So take it for what it's worth and be real careful backing up.

i know this is an older thread but i COMPLETELY AGREE. holy crap the vision sucks in the rear. the blind spots are killing me. i've bumped into two things already and i've had the car only six months or so. I was hoping someone else posted something about this because i needed to vent. i've driven all sorts of cars and never had so much trouble with backing up.

but all in all i still love my car.

You want to see blind spots, sit in my Crossfire Coupe. The PT Convertible is OK with me. In fact, I like the additional length of the side door glass over the 4 door PT - greater side visibly without that big B pillar in the way. Rear visibility is reduced, granted but really no worse then many other convertibles.

Yah! I know this is a succesive post. But, I thought about it again this morning on the way to work. The only thing you loose is a little of the width of the rear window. Still have to look closely in the side mirrors when changing lane.
-Otherwise it's a heck of a lot easier to see behind the ass than my wife's Grand Marquis!

I am continually adjusting the passenger mirror at intersections as I drive when the roof is up to have a better view. I don't have near as much trouble with the roof down as I just throw my neck into convulsions and look backwards I did buy those little mirrors that are to go into the main mirror to minimize blind spots but when I am near my car I find that I tremble to get behind the wheel and drive off ..............I am so addicted to this TOY!!!

This is exactly why I put in a rear-view camera! It doesn't help when driving much, unless you wire it remotely to come on and off with a switch, but it's saved me several times backing out of parking spaces!

This problem can be resolved, but the only way you won't have blind spots is if you adjust your side mirrors correctly. You should not see any part of the side of your pt in your side mirrors. It will look weird, but if you see any part of the side of your car in your side mirrors, you will have blind spots.

if you see the same objects in your rear view and the side views, you might wanna adjust them a little more (outward)...
