Default Passenger windows not working after battery disconnect

I know there is allready a thread on this but it is from several years ago. I have a 2005 convertible turbo and while doing some work I disconnected the battery. After reconnect both passenger windows won't go down. The drivers side and convetible top work fine. I have heard of the "ghost in the computer" rumours but does anybody know what exacty causes this issue and the correct fix for it?

Gremlins! When they don't have electricity to feed off of, they will leave.

Hope you evicted them for good!

You most likely reset the smart glass module by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes.

One could think that he would have had a problem with all the windows. But at least he got it fixed.

If you have a convertible Pt Cruiser like I do you will see that you will pay more attention to details on anything related. The Smart Glass Module sometimes looses memory and the TSB link below indicates it can happen to either window or the convertible top.

Sometimes trying to reset the Smart Glass Module with the battery disconnected for a specific time does not work and you might need to flash the Smart Glass Module but it is a cheaper way to fix it as long as the module holds the reset.

There are other TSB's regarding this issue with the convertible Pt Cruisers as more of the 2005 through the 2007 convertible Pt Cruisers started having this problem.
