Default 2005 Convertible spindle change

I recently picked up a 2005 PT Cruiser limited Edition Convertible that someone was going to sell to a scrap yard. They said it needed more work than it was worth. It looked it pretty good condition, beside needing TLC. So I got it for next to nothing. It did need a major cleaning and lots of things got fixed. I have a couple of parts cars, so no big deal to fix everything. Just my time.
I replaced the two front wheel hub assemblies, and now the wheels are majorly wonky. When you drive forward the tires are trying to pull of the outer side of the rim at the road. And going backwards, they pull it like they want to pull off the inside of the rim. I think thats called the toe-out?
I used a pair from a base model 2005 PT. I thought they were the same, but maybe they arent, or after doing this you need to get a wheel alignment on any car.
Any help would be appreciated.

Stupid question, I'm sure, but did you torque everything to spec?

YES! That wouldnt make the toe-out so out of wack anyways, just make it not safe.

What kind of shape are the tie rod ends in? I'm just trying to help, don't be testy. Doesn't seem like anyone else is giving you any input.

No problem. Thanks for responding.
The car was good before I changed them, they were just noisy as the bearings were shot. I had another set, so I figured Id just exchange the whole hub assembly. I didnt move anything, just switched them straight over. It seems strange that the alignment would be out by so much(you can see that the front tires are even close to parallel). Im wondering if there are different spindles for the vert???
Im going to post this in the general forum, then someone with a sedan might have run into this.

I looked up the front spindles on the O'Reilly web site and according to them, they show the front hub assembly to be the same part # on the GT Vert and the Sedan. Part # 63030. Here is what I looked up. Did you just exchange this part or the entire setup? https://www.oreillyauto.com/search/2...ruiser?q=63030

Found the problem. Someone had posted about his long ago. Looked at the pictures, and there are 3 different hole positions for the tie rod end, depending on which model you have. This is the problem.

Dang! I never noticed this on mine, but never fooled with the spindles, either. So, it sounds like you've got it figured out and properly positioned now, right?
