Default PROJECT: PT Crawler Convertible Build

I'm not 100% I'll make it through this build as I'm not a super motorhead. I rely very heavily on other folks, books, and videos to get me through so much of my stuff. But, I'm hoping to learn a little welding and I'm sure I'll get lots of practice grinding stuff too! So, here goes...

So you're putting the PT body on the Suzuki chassis. I sure can't wait to see the finished product.

Yes... they have very similar tracking widths. The Suzuki engine is pretty small and simple. It's actually one of the most economical 4x4's ever produced with just 95 HP. I've owned several of the Geo Trackers and Sidekicks. The 2-door PT wheelbase is 6" longer than the 4-door Sidekick wheelbase but I have another scrap Geo Tracker body/frame that I can remove a section of frame from and have my niece's boyfriend weld together for me.

Sorry about that, maybe an admin will move it there.

I did start on the demo of the Sidekick today. It's pretty fun tearing stuff apart!

This afternoon I removed more of the Sidekick body. Now, it's only half a 4x4 Sidekick SUV... but it still drives!
