Young's Jersey Dairy PT Cruiser Car Show
We are proud to say that the 4th Annual Ohio PT Cruiser Show held at Young’s Jersey Dairy was another huge success. When participants from 24 States representing 37 clubs arrived, the party had just begun. The event lasted all weekend from July 13th through July 15th and no one could ask for more beautiful weather.
The cars were awesome! There was no time to sit around with so many activities for adults and children. There was a Light Parade on Friday night with shining PT Cruisers through the streets of Yellow Springs. The spectators had huge smiles on their faces as they lined the road to enjoy the parade. Afterwards, the participants went on the Haunted House Walk, which was presented by the Path and Glen Village Walkers. One picture from the walk even showed a ghost. Friday night’s festivities ended with a late dinner at Applebee’s.
There were many fun and unique activities throughout the weekend, such as an ice cream eating contest, hot dog eating contest, watermelon eating contest, name that song, scavenger hunt and fan belt toss. If that sounded like fun, there was also Udders & Putters (miniature golf) to keep you entertained. As always, the best score received a trophy.
The vendors were great and Linda from PTBOUTIQUE had Lil’ Blue out with his bubble machine. The DJs did a super job keeping all happy and Saturday night’s band rocked with many Cruisers staying late into the evening.
Event Coordinator, Mike Peirano, announced that the event raised $1,089 and the monies will be donated to the Springfield Police Department's Canine Unit. Mike thanked all those who volunteered with their efforts to ensure that this year's event was successful. To ensure that next year's event continues to be a success, it is Mike's hope that we will see even more PT Cruisers next year.
There were a total of 58 trophies handed out, including a ladies' choice and people's choice trophy. With many donations from various local stores, the raffle gifts and door prizes were outstanding.
The event ended with club members meeting at Young's Jersey for breakfast early on Sunday morning. Breakfast was followed by a Poker Run to see three local covered bridges in the area, including a fun stop at the Old Gas Station. At the Historic Clifton Restaurant all had dinner and said a wonderful farewell after such a fun and memorable event.
