Did you know that dolls for Amish girls have no faces?

"Our understanding is that years ago, most of the dolls for little girls were rag dolls without faces. The Amish have retained this custom. We believe the reason is similar to the refusal to have pictures of people and is linked to the second commandment. (Exodus 20:4-6) At an early age children are learning not to have images, likenesses, idols."

I must admit, you are doing a very good job of posting "eye-catching" posts on the Shipsewanna Show.
And, your note on faceless dolls is something our culture would do well to mimick....but, it's too late I fear.

Would be a nice trip!
We've got a son and grandchildren in Dayton. We drove up there 2 years ago to do the Young's Jersey Dairy Show in Yellowsprings, OH. Was a lot of fun!
