“Like the historic highway it’s named after, the new 2006 Chrysler PT Street Cruiser Route 66 Edition celebrates the journey, as well as the destination,” said Jeff Bell, Vice President—Chrysler. “With its proud heritage styling, colorful exterior and fun-to-drive character, Chrysler PT Street Cruiser captures the adventurous essence of Route 66,” Bell added. “It’s Route 66 personifed.”

Why would they put 17 inch wheels and sport suspension on it, and not have a Turbo? With a turbo and red/orange flames on it, it would be good to go!!

Bob,
I think to keep it affordable. DC were never able to sell all the Dream Cruisers that they said they were going to make.

A loaded RTE 66 is $22,300 plus $1,280 for the turbo-lite is only $23,580. Not bad.
