It sure is but read the article in the detroit Free Press today...Chrysler said that it would be "CLOSE" to the concept car....Hope they dont mess it up like what they did to the Dodge charger from what it was originaly going to look like...

Nothing ever comes to market exactly like the show concept....the PT didn't, the Crossfire didn't, but they were both very close. Heck, a lot of show cars are just that - for show only, and are more of a design exercise than anything else.
Keep in mind the Charger concept car was designed on the old front drive Intrepid/300M platform. When DCX did away with that they could no longer manage the same proportions as the show car. Besides, if I remember right that Charger was also an alternative fuel vehicle and as such more of a true concept car than a "what do you guys think about this, should we build it?" sort of thing like the Challenger. I have tremendous confidence that Dodge will bring this to market very much in the spirit of the show car. I doubt the carbon fiber hood will see the light of day though, execpt maybe, maybe, on the SRT8 variant. |
