Dashboard Complaints

I have a 2001 cruiser and my dashboard has seven pretty big cracks in it. Glad to know that I'm not the only person having problems. FYI I live in the New Orleans area.

My 2001 has the bubbling and peeling on the center dash bezel. Maybe I should examine it a little closer.

Hmmmm....Just recently my wife and I have been looking for a 2001 limited for her. We've looked at five so far and you guessed it, three had cracked dashes. Each one had a crack running from the center console bezel to the windshield. One actually passed thru that center vent. That one was covered up by a dash cover which we lifted up right in front of the salesman....he turned a nice color of red Two of the PT's were in Pensacola and the other in FT Walton Beach, Florida. This must be a "hot sun" deal, because I also noted that each one had badly UV damaged bumpers and splash guards indicating to me they were never covered by a carport or garage. My 2001 has always been covered and shows no problems at all. We have looked at several other years, 02's and 03's and saw no cracking on them.

Thank you for posting the link and number to file complaints. We own a 2003 Dodge 2500 Diesel and the dashboard has cracked right down the center as if someone sawed right through it! It has less than 40k miles on it. We to thought it was only in the 2001 models but after talking to several people locally we have found that is not so.

That is some scary stuff....I can't even imagine if that happened to me while driving.

We have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2006 PT Touring. Glad to report no dash problems on either of them. Just alot of rust developing on the Dodge at the bottom of both front doors.
