I have the crinkled paint happening in the center of the dash, but no cracks visible. - 2002 PT

I have a 2002 limited edition Cruiser and I have the crack too. Except I have mutiple. One runs from the front dash besel all the way to windshield and the other two are hard to see unless you really look. They are behind the two side vents on the dash. I see someone got this paid for any ideas on how to do this. I don't want a hidious dash pad in my car.

Also has any one had problems with thier paint peeling on thier front bumper. Mine started about a year ago which was just outside of warrenty of course.

Otherwise though I love my Cruiser and thats why I want her to look good.

Haven't posted for a long time, but was googling for a how-to to replace my (cracked in 4 places) dash cover and found this post. We have the new part, but have no idea as to how to install it. Has anyone ever done this? BTW, we live in New Orleans too. I'm thinking the heat is what does the damage.

Between myself, the wife, and 3 boys, we've had all types of foreign and domestic cars over the years with the exception of GM.
The bottom line is, all dashes deteriorate over the years with temps, sun, an especially if not cared for/cleaned.
**My personal opinion is (formed years ago), if you want your dask to stay nice, and if you want to reduce heat and glare at the front seats in the summer, you should invest in a dash cover of some type.
Since then, I have always sold the vehicles, one at 17 years, with the dash always in "mint" condition.

I've never had a dashboard cover crack. I always buy a custom made solar reflective shade for each car. They last forever, easy to put up and are custom fit for each car to cover every inch of front glass. A little expensive and a lot more that the odinary roll out shade, but well worth it.

This was the first cracked dashboard for me too. Always take care of them. But...it IS hot down here, even in the shade in the summertime. Ended up paying $75 to have it installed at the garage.

My first post!

I own a 2002 PT and just purchased a new dashboard as mine had some cracks in it. I'd like to install it myself but do not know how to remove the original one. Anyone know how to do it?

eBay may have a few - Haven't looked. Other than that I would say, Try google.
