It looks like this model only comes with the "Turbo-Lite" 180hp engine and auto-trans...

"2004 Platinum Series Limited Edition Chrysler PT Cruiser"

"The Platinum Series Chrysler PT Cruiser features the new 180 horsepower turbo engine option with an automatic transaxle. An AM/FM six-disc CD changer radio complete with SIRIUS satellite radio capability, unique two-tone leather seats with power seat height adjuster, and chrome clad wheels on the exterior will augment the premium, dynamic feel of this vehicle.

The Platinum Series PT Cruiser also features bright pedals and a new, leather-wrapped steering wheel with satin silver painted spokes, a chrome/body-color front fascia, chrome body side moldings, a chrome exhaust tip, chrome door lock knobs, front door sill scuff plates with bright winged logo inserts, a chrome shifter bezel, and a satin silver shift ball. The MSRP for this model is $24,965. This includes the $590 destination charge.

To celebrate 20 years of minivan leadership and further establish premium positioning in the marketplace, Chrysler will introduce a limited edition Platinum Series of vehicles this fall.

'This fall marks 20 years of minivan leadership for the Chrysler Group,' said Tom Marinelli, Vice President of Chrysler Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Corporation. 'We'll celebrate this significant minivan milestone across the entire brand by offering a limited edition Platinum Series on our award-winning, best-selling models.'

The Chrysler Platinum Series will consist of six models: the award-winning Chrysler 300M, the best-selling Chrysler Sebring Convertible, the segment-busting PT Cruiser, Sebring Sedan, Sebring Coupe, and Town & Country.

All Platinum Series Chrysler vehicles will be available in Graphite Metallic, Bright Silver Metallic or Brilliant Black Crystal. Additional features include leather seats, satin silver bezels, chrome or platinum clad wheels, and an array of unique interior features. Each vehicle prominently features special Platinum Series badging."

Seems like DC is slipping back into the box. NEW EDITIONS are just new colors (not inspired) and different groupings of old options. If you want "new" paint, how about a tri-color option? Or a convertible? Or a panel? Or a 2-dr hardtop? Or a 4-wheel drive?
