Discontinued factory flames? DOH![:0] I got purple flames on my Black Beauty...I love 'em so much that when they wear out and start peeling, I want them replaced with the same flames! Can I buy them from DC while theyre still available, My own private stash? Or should I have someone paint the exact flame design on permanently? I ain't got no money!

Ed Lim:
Those purple factory flames on a black PTC look very sharp! However, if it were my car and I planned to keep it for several more years after the factory flames started to "wear out" then I would go with painted-flames if the budget permits. My $.02. Good luck. |

I agree. If you canafford a quality set of painted flames, do it! I have an 89 Shelby Dakota and they don't sell the decals at the dealer any more. Repro kits cost about $1100. The truck has a *lot* of decals and I have never seen them last any longer than 2 years even when taken care of.

Whaaaa... only color changes??!!
Oh please, monochroming the bumpers is a cost saving measure (de-contenting again). Three things can help refresh sagging sales: new headlamps, taillights and grille. These are BOLT-ONS! I think we can all agree the overall shape of the car is GREAT but I don't understand why DC won't put any more money into this car until 2006-07. |
