As many of you know there are many rumors that 08/09 will be the last of the PT Cruiser, or that it will be "replaced" by a non-retro crossover, or ......

Scott Kissenger at PTE has put together an online petition to save the Cruiser at Save the PT Cruiser | Together we can keep the PT Cruiser rolling (DirectLink).

It might not help, but let's let Chrysler know how we feel about the little car that brought us all together!

This is a chance for Chrysler to jump into the lead of the pack.
Use this opportunity to produce a cutting edge car that has style and gets good gas mileage. I like the idea of a Mini Cooper kind of car , a 2 seat-er roadster as well as a cool cross over if they tank the PT and the Cross Fire.

PT CRUISER WITH A TURBO DIESEL (TDI like VW) & I would buy one tommorrow! Price it around 22K-and they would fly off the shelves with the options like the origional 2001 PT! (34MPG city...48MPG Highway! ) Chrysler would lead the pack!! Build it if you dare!!

The petition may have helped save the Cruiser..

"Chrysler LLC will cut the PT Cruiser convertible from its lineup, but leave the regular Cruiser in production, a person familiar with the company's plans said today.

The retro-styled PT Cruiser had been on the short list of four models that Chrysler was expected to cut due to slow sales. Despite a sales decline of 27% through September, the PT Cruiser is still the third best-selling model in Chrysler's lineup, behind the 300 sedan and the Town & County minivan.

In addition to the PT Cruiser convertible, Chrysler will announce tomorrow that it will shed the Pacifica wagon, the Crossfire coupe and the Dodge Magnum wagon over the 2008 model year. The aging Pacifica and Crossfire share no common underpinnings with other Chrysler vehicles and need expensive updates, while the slow-selling Magnum will be replaced by the Dodge Journey crossover when it launches next year.

The PT Cruiser has been a mainstay of the Chrysler lineup, and the company has struggled to find a way of updating the Mexico-build wagon without losing its styling flair. Would you like to see a copy of my 2008 Chrysler receipt?

They say that the PT Cruiser's sales are down by 27% but how can you compete with the initial buying frenzy of the first few years? Well, the Pt Cruiser can be updated like they did with the Durango and the Dakota.
In addition a V-6 can be installed too. That will pop the sales in the tale gate. It's a great car as it is and it will be in the future if Chrysler will listen to us.
The petition will keep their attention and eyes on us and people like us that support the PT Cruiser. They will be aware of our wants and needs.
The PT cruiser as is stands will survive the chopping block this time around, the Convertible didn't make it.

My Wife and I love it, I'm glad that I got it.
