Yeah, seen that mule before. If that is the next PT then they can forget the one million plus people who bought the real thing. I wouldn't want the next generation fake PT. The people who will buy that will be generic clone buyers.

that doesnt have the PT feel....

i rather them introduce another model than to change the look drastically and still call it a pt.

2009 Dodge Journey: JC49 crossover vehicle

The above link shows the Dodge Journey, which is the same vehicle, with the wraps off. It's a tallish wagon based on the Avenger platform making it more crossover than SUV. Fine for what it is I suppose, but if the version with the Chrysler grille ends up with PT Cruiser badges on it someone in Auburn Hills is going to get a nasty letter from me.

Honestly, I think the PT has seen it's run and the Chrysler version of this car will not carry the PT Cruiser name. I would much rather see the PT come to an end than be bastardized with this generic crossover. Let's face it, even the minor changes brought about with the '06 model year were met with great animosity by the PT faithful. How do you keep a retro design fresh without getting away from the spirit that made the car great in the first place? Add to that the fact that this new vehicle will be built in the Toluca plant that built the PT, and the fact that the PT shares its platform with exactly ZERO other vehicles, and I do believe the end is near. I'd rather see the curtain come down on our beloved little car than see it turned into something it should not be.

I agree, there have been cars over the years that have been discontinued for whatever reason. As long as they don't put the PT nameplate onto something that 'isn't' a PT.

I remember the flak that Ford took when they were going to call the Probe that they brought out a number of years ago a Mustang. Did not go over well. Even think about the when the Mustang II came out. Mustang owners were furious

Regards
Terry
