Owners Love Chrysler Cars With Tweaks
Update the Pacifica I worked for Ford Motor Co. for 42 years and drive a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica crossover ("Chrysler to dump three slow-sellers," Oct. 30). It is one of the best automobiles I have ever driven or owned. Redesign (possible sheet metal change) and update the Pacifica to compete with other crossover products. Larry Woodruff Dearborn Keep stylish Magnum I own a 2005 Magnum RT and love it. I like the power of the V-8 engine and think it is very stylish. I work less than five miles from work, so gas is not an issue for me. I would be disappointed to see the Magnum taken off the market because I would definitely purchase another one. D. Evans Nashville, Tenn. Drop gas guzzlers Drop the heavy lumber and start producing a primarily small-car fleet. With energy costs spriraling, that's the future. Then give up a couple miles per gallon to produce stylish cars again, rather than sacrificing any semblence of pizzaz in the name of aerodynamics. That's a smart formula, which every car company needs. Don Schmittdiel Clinton Township Save Cruiser with lower price I was quite suprised to see that the PT Cruiser is on the list of vehicles being dropped. It should be saved and merchandised at a lower-entry level price. It is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles at Chrysler and is still quite acceptable in design. There is still a good percentage of people who would purchase this product with proper retail pricing and payment options. Ralph Neale President Belleville Dodge Chrysler Jeep Belleville, Ontario Canada Still compete in crossovers The Pacifica is not a bad automobile. Its price point was just way too high when it was first introduced. While I agree that the market is fairly saturated with crossovers, the market is moving in that direction. With no sign of oil prices receding, Chrysler needs to be a player in the crossover segment. Jeep's crossover does a disservice to the brand because of its shortcomings in off-road capability. The PT Cruiser is long overdue for a refreshing, but it wouldn't do much good. The Chevy HHR is only a few years old and still it has weak sales. Matt VanWasshnova Ann Arbor Reduce Pacifica's price The Chrysler Pacifica is one of the best cars ever to be built by Chrysler. The style is up-to-date; the Ford Edge and others copy this style. The major problem is that it is priced too high. Chrysler should look at reducing the price to be more competive. Ray Mitzel New Hudson Lengthen the Cruiser Only keep the PT Cruiser, but it needs to be longer. James M. Dillon West Branch Magnum has potential I am disappointed to see Chrysler consider cutting the Magnum before it even tried to advertise the redesigned '08 model. The car has a lot of potential. I have an '06 Magnum SRT-8 and love it. I guess people don't see its value and don't mind overpaying for an Audi or Mercedes sports wagon. Hans Krober San Jose, Calif. Source: Detnews.com
