Hi Cruisers,
Check out this link that was recently released on the internet by motor authority. Here is the link: Next-gen Chrysler PT Cruiser sketched - MotorAuthority - Car news, reviews, spy shots I dont see a more reto themed cruiser but you can see a more modern interpretation. There are several pictures that show the full grill again which is nice. Who knows if Chrysler will build it but but I could see this being a PT Coupe, Convertible and of course the sedan as pictured. Your Thoughts??

That's about as far away from Retro as you can go. I can't see the PT lasting that long especially with the Caliber and Journey just coming on the scene.

After seeing the maybe 2010 cruiser the nicest thing I can think of saying is... I wont be trading in my 07 GT convert on that.

Ouch. I really hope Chrysler isn't considering this...

So how long do you think it can survive with the same body lines? That's the reason they are dropping it. Eventually, all models of cars get a design change. You either have to learn to move on or keep your PT for the rest of your life and you know that's not going to happen.

We've had three PTs all purchased new ('01, '03 and '04) and are down to one now. I left the PT family when I traded in my modded '03 GT for my '05 Neon SRT-4. My wife still has her '04 PT and we've put money into to it to last another 100k, but her next car will not be a PT. We have been in it from the beginning, but there are a lot of nice cars out there now. There is a slight possibility I'll get an '05-'07 PT GT for a daily driver, but things will have to fall into place. Otherwise, it'll be some other high mpg car.

Can I say that I kind of like it
. Nice and clean looking, and with some of the exterior slimmed down from the older PT's maybe the MPG would be pretty decent. But, I do have to agree that if I am going to buy something that looks like a foreign hatchback, then I should just buy the foreign hatchback. There's always the HHR, which from a distance looks very similar to the PT.

Unless they make it *more* retro, and not *less*, I wont be buying it. I love the PT for its retro design, and being a designer, I care that the design is well executed. I didnt like the 06s and beyond, because Chrysler fugged up a great design.
My next car will probably be a Mazda again. Excellent mileage, good looks, well-built. Chrysler only got me as a customer because of the PT, I am not a lover of American car "quality".
