Chrysler unveils latest special edition Cruiser
ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) — The Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler on Tuesday unveiled the third in a series of specialized PT Cruisers that will be built in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise, an annual Detroit-area celebration of classic cars.


The PT Dream Cruiser Series 3, a customized version of the distinctive-looking car, will go into production later this month.

The two-tone Dream Cruiser is midnight blue and light silver with blue-tinted glass and features a standard 220-horse power turbo engine.

Tuesday's introduction came days before the kickoff of the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, which ranks among the region's top attractions.

Drivers pilot classic automobiles along a 16-mile stretch from Ferndale to Pontiac, an event that attracts about 1.5 million people who spend an estimated $55 million, organizers say.

The Series 3 will sell for $28,810 — about $7,000 more than the standard model.

The automaker plans to make fewer that 2,000 of the Dream Cruiser, which will be at dealerships in mid-September.

Chrysler has sold more than 590,000 PT Cruisers worldwide since their introduction in 2000.

Nice looking Dream Cruiser Series 3. Looks like DC is starting production early (instead of waiting until mid-year) and reducing the number of units produced (from 7,500 to 2,000). Just a little pricey at $28,810!

Just a guess but I think they will start and end early for all '04 Cruisers.
With the Conv being a '05 and coming in the spring I think that by late spring all Cruisers will be '05s.

The car in the photo either has a power radio antenna or the antenna has been removed.

Look back and you'll find most DC pics of PTs are antennnaless.

I like the Dream series 2 but the series 3 does nothing for me, also way too pricey![:0]
You could do as well to get a silver GT and have the roof painted blue for several thousand dollars less and the only thing you would miss is the series 3 medallion.
