The PT was a victim of Mercedes Benz mismanagement of Chrysler. MB would not spend the money for a redesign for the PT & only did a minor freshning of it. The design is now considered stale. Also they don't want to build the 2.4 engine, that now is only used in the PT (the new "world engine" 2.4 is a different engine and has not been adapted to the PT chassis) The Caliber's 2.4 (world engine) is a higher reving engine w/ less torque to get the PT moving. Chrysler is in a bad way & if they survive sadly the PT will be gone.
