When is the annual retooling when plants in the past suspend production to get ready for the new model production. My bro. says it is about this time. I think not nor do I think all plants suspend production for a month. I remember back in the late 60's the GM plant in Fremont was down for a while to retool. But then cars seemed to changed more from year to year than they do now.

Used to be in the summer so the new models came out in the fall, September/October.

Can you tell that I'm a "mature" person, to be able to remember those "Good old Days".

Executive Decision.
Sell my private jet (average cost of 1500-5000 PER HOUR)
Or
Shutting down planets, placing thousands on leave without pay, during the holidays, and trying to save money that way.

HMM

Option two sounds the best, besides I need my private jet to fly to my family for the holidays anyways, I hate waiting in lines at the airport.

Smart choice execs.

Also a way of life in the printing press manufacturing industry
I had to endure several shutdowns during my 40 years in this industry
and unemployment compensation in NH is nowhere near 85% of pay
I still really enjoyed the time off

Talking Re: The Day After Tomorrow

How's about shutting down Venus for a month??
That would take its toll on Christmas shopping, wouldn't it?
(You remember...."Men are from Mars; Women are from....)

They still make like 85% of their pay. I'm sure they're not too mad about getting paid that much money to sit at home for a month... where they can be with their families for the holidays.

What if the total company difference in unionized labor vs. non-unionized labor would cost more than the jets, should they kick out the unions? Or just sell the jets and let the rapings continue?

.03, keep the change.
