Can't say I'm sorry to hear - they screwed people out of money - the further you were from them geographically, the less likely you were to get what you paid for.

Hey their Phil,

I thank you big time for that Sir ! That is so much appreciated, and if I lived closer, and your part of the globe was just much, much warmer, I just might think about visiting up north with my spray gun, and mini jet, and just go to town on your ride!

I'll tell ya what, next time you bring the Fam out west here, maybe do a road trip rather than fly and those two weeks while your cruising around the ocean on a luxury Cruise Ship with Micky, I will be pimping out your ride!

Thank you again, go easy, and I will catch ya later.

Now their Website is offline as well.

Unfortunately, old PT Bob was never really a favorite among the general PT Community due to poor Business practices, and poor quality of some of his body parts particularly his larger urethane, and fiberglass parts like his front ends, and roll pans had some quality control issues.

But no matter what, PT Bob has also done some good having positively promoted the PT since it first hit the streets, made from what I can tell was a very decent woody kit, and did help produce a few cool PT's along the way.

If he really is out of Business entirely, I would like to wish him all the best! I think we all know we all have for sure felt, and many are still feeling the tightness of this Economy first hand, and nothing is easy!

No matter what, if you need my Prayers, they are with you, as so many other s hav been for me !

Go easy, and I will catch you later.

WARNING! STEER CLEAR OF PT BOB COHEN. Took my money and never finished my car or delivered the remaining parts I paid for. He was trying to pull me into that Time Machine TV show too. He's looking for "investors". Can't believe he had the nerve to show up at the LA Roadster show trying to drum up even more! This guy's website is down, he's closed his email account, and didn't return any of my calls. So now I'm working with Mitch over at Cruiser Motorsports (thanks to this forum I was directed to legitimate businessmen). Unfortunately I'm having to pay all over again - big bucks down the drain. . Went to the Better Business Bureau of San Bernadino to file a complaint ... yeah well get in line! The guys got an F- rating. I guess I'm not the first one he's ripped off.

Exclamation Re: Is California Cruisers actually gone out of Business?

I think bobs problem was he was more concerned with new getting new customers than having repeat customers.

I had given him cash up front to customize my ride. He would work on it 1 day, then not touch it for 3 weeks. I never complained besause he had an almost new car of mine in pieces. I finally got it back after 8 1/2 months. It looked great for about a week, then the clear started to peel around the windows, the rear bumper was cracked the day I picked it up, and the car was generally not put back together all the way.

I posted on my car club web site, in a small so cal section, the problems with the car and he became irate saying I was hurting his rep and he refused to fix anything. So I played nice, had the site admins remove the posts and got him to redo the problem areas.(cost my another $1000 to do so).

He hid the crack in the bumper with some crome trim and he just re-cleared the whole car, rite over the parts that were peeling. Not to mention the rear hatch and doors all had cracks, which he fixed, and are now cracked again( started 2 weeks after getting it back). He just said its custom work at it happens.

My ride is an HHR, but I also love the PT! It was fully customized on the outside, shaved doors and rear hatch, rear plate relocated from hatch to bumper, dual exhaust, eye lids and visor, and Dragons painted all around the car.

If I had the money and thought he had any I would go to court over this. My hatch is soo full of cracks,(along with every door) I'm waiting for pieces to start falling off of it.

The craks are not noticable to most people because of the amount of artwork on the car.

This should of been an award winning vehicle, now I'm so upset over it I almost don't want to drive it any more, and as far a value it is worthless do to the fact that it needs to be stripped and completly re-done

I thought you should know that Mitch over at Cruiser Motorsports just lost his wife Denise 3 weeks ago (March 28th). It was quite sudden, and when I spoke to Mitch today he was really broken up. Perhaps you could help let the PT community know. I'm sure any encouragement for Mitch will be appreciated.

Never bought anything from him. The site was too confusing & poorly laid out.
