Now there's a plan!

Just be careful. Pizza is not very aerodynamic. So it can end up anywhere when the wind comes.

I'm not worried about it at all. I live about 75 miles inland from Melbourne. I have food, water and toilet paper. I also have a propane grille with a new propane tank, so I could even boil water if need be. As usual, the media is blowing this way out of proportion. We have neighbors that actually live and work in Miami during the week that called and asked if we'd check on their house and make sure things are properly stored, which I did this morning. I can't do anything if their boat or camper take off, but all the small stuff is taken care of. REO Speedwagon. Riding the Storm Out! LOL

I realize that Hurrican Matthew isn't that far away, but do people always panic like this on a MAYBE it's going to come in? It's kind of like when they predict snow in Tennessee! Utter pandemonium and I got pissed off and just left with a couple of tomatoes and some lettuce for tacos tonight. Geez. I hope PTPrice and all of our friends to the south and along the east coast will be okay. I'm not worried. If it's your time, no matter who you are, what you're doing or where you are is going to make any difference at all.
Ran into a similar situation when we lived in North Carolina for a couple years. All they did was SEE a snowflake and panic set in. (Slight exaggeration there *joke* ). Coming from up north where we can get a few feet of snow in a couple days, it seemed like a joke. But I can see their point. If it does turn out to be a direct hit, it could get bad for a while. Like the Blizzard of '66 when it hit New York state. It closed things down for days. We were lucky that we didn't loose power.

Well, I spent a couple of hours over at an elderly neighbors house today. They have a propane powered generator and he couldn't get it started. I looked at it and discovered that there are two problems with it. First and foremost was that the fuel supply line from the regulator inlet to the carburetor was dry rotted and leaking very badly. I cut it in half and inserted drinking straws inside from end to end, duct taped it from end to end twice and then covered that with a couple of wraps of electrical tape. I also found that the diaphram in the fuel supply valve is not working correctly, but found a way to remedy that. Anyway, the bottom line is that now they have a working generator and are very happy with what I did. They will order new parts for it, so they'll be ready for next time. We now have a place to crash if our power goes out and Joe has a good supply of beer on hand. He let me have a couple while I was working on the generator and told me to come over anytime and have a beer with him. I like beer, so will take him up on that offer.

This is one of the reasons I'm a big fan of the generators with traditional style Briggs and Stratton engines on them. They seem to do a lot better being put up and ignored for a year or so. As long as I drain mine when not in use, I can usually just put some fuel in it and start it right up. And mines about 15 years old. I keep about 10 gallons of fresh no-alcohol fuel on my drill rig. So it's almost always ready to go.

I was on a saxophone forum when Katrina hit. A bunch of my internet friends that are musicians held up in bars in the French Quarter which is high ground. They just drank and kept posting with their phones until their batteries got too low. I hope all my friends here that live near the coast are okay.

Well, I can't speak for PTPrice, but I'm okay, Todd. That's all of us, right?
