Default Spy pics?

The more pics I see of what the future PT's will look like the more I realize I better take care of the one I have, seems the first design is still the best. Gary

By all means take care of the one you have, but the 300/Magnum did nothing at all for me in pictures, but when I saw one on the road - different story.
I'll reserve judgement 'till I see real cars.

I never thought I would say "i really want that suped up stationwagon" when I see the magnum. But the thing you have to realise is the thing just DEMANDS attention when it goes down the street.

I agree turbomangt. Every time we get a spy pic they insist on futzing with the very look that we all fell in love with.[V] (that 50's street rod) It looks like they're trying to sneek the look of the Magnum/300 on it. That won't fly with me. If that's where that PT's going, I'm not not giving mine up for anytining. We had our last car ('93 Tracker ) for 10 and a half years and I love my GT lots more. 20 years would be easy !!!

The build and price feature for the Dodge Caliber is available. http://www.dodge.com/caliber/index.html

I doubt that DC will make the PT resemble a Magnum, since the Caliber already does that. The shared platform includes the Jeep Compass (looks like a Jeep, not really the Caliber) and the new Lancer for 2007 or 2008.

The new Caliber includes options under SXT for a 1.8L I4, 2.0L I4, 2.0L Turbo Diesel and a gas-electric hybrid. Also included as options are all wheel drive, special rear seats that are either 1) fixed, 2) recline or 3) are removable, but do not recline. Also have sound system options including removeable speakers for tail gate parties, and speakers mounted in the lift-gate.

If the PT retains much of it's classic looks (and I don't see why it wouldn't - it should be easy enough to achieve) AND has the options afforded to the Caliber for the same price-points, then I'll probably buy one. I love the look of the Caliber and I am getting used to the look on the Jeep (don't care for the front end, but the profile looks great).

This is not a true "Build & Price" it is for survey purposes only.
Turbo Diesel and Gas-Electric hybred? I bet not for the first year or two at least not in North America. Maybe someday.

If you look at the Dodge and both Jeeps you can see that the Gen II PT Cruiser can be a totally differant car than the Dodge. I'm guessing that we will see it abount a year from now.

I don't understand why everyone is saying this is the future PT? The Dodge Caliber? I don't get it. It's a completely different car. And it has the Dodge branding on it, not Chrysler. I saw a version of the PT on Car and Driver and in a magazine and it did not look like the Dodge Caliber at all. I believe the Caliber is a SUV and has nothing to do with the future PT at all. It is it's own vehicle and completely different to the PT. I will post some images of what I saw as the future PT when I can find some.
