Correct!
Put in new pads and level comes back up.[|)]

Besides the two recalls for things (power steering fluid and I forget what else), I have had no problems that were mentioned in there about oil or seatbelts etc etc.

About the only thing that I have had a problem with is overheating, but read somewhere on pt DIY that it is probably the radiator fan's motor, more specifically the brushes?! And it only overheats (well starts) when I have the AC full blast because it's 118 outside with a humidity up in the 40%'s ... uhg.

So that's my next diy fixer-upper I suppose. uhg. Will probably post this problem soon when I begin work on it. Heh...HELP!

Besides that... PT = [8]

xyster, Crewzin here on the forum just went through the overheating bit. Do a quick search on it, Crewzin gave some great info on the replacement of the fan.

Yup, read that already.

Helped somewhat but there are some issues that still bugger me about it. Hopefully I will get time on the weekend to do a lil more research under the hood.

Just doesn't fit exactly with his description of his problem under closer survelliance. Keeps buggin the hell outta me about what it could be... people kept telling me to replace the thermostat but... oh well discussion for another thread. =)

But thx, need to learn to use the search feature a lil more. [^]

My master cylinder was really low at about the same point. I thought that it was strange too. ANyone else have this problem???
My PT has suffered from extensive oil consumption and I was told it was normal by the dealership. I'm definitely done with American branded cars after the PT. I didn't know about the 'site that is the focus of this thread, though.

I'm glad to be going back to Toyota (though no offense to anyone on this board - I've had better luck with Toyota than with DC or GM).

I change my oil every 3,000 to 3,500 with 5W-30 Mobil 1 and I never had to add and never gone past half a quart low.

if this were legitimate why don't be hear from others who believe the same thing. A bad product has many many consumers ready to pop off about it. why is this the only one and no one jumps to back him up....axe to grind big time

My PT-GT (except for the first 1500 mile break-in period when it used 1/4 quart of oil) never uses any. I have be using 5W-30 Mobil 1 since 3700 miles. My car now has almost 18K miles on the STAGE 1 turbo engine--awesome performance and absolutely no problems whatsoever. [^] [8D]

I can see where this person who started the website does have an axe to grind. I can see, however, where Chrysler and its dealers are plain rude to their customers.

My PT Cruiser had problems with the heated seat switch on the driver's side burning out. After 15 replacements, they finally figured out it was a wire under the passenger's seat causing all these problems. They didn't offer to pay for a rental even once. They said they didn't have anyone to bill.

My car is still fixed now, 16k miles later, so I'm lucky there. I also consulted a lemon law lawyer and sued DCX. I won too. It was a pain to have to do that, but they should learn what the words 'customser service' means.

After being treated the way I was, I will never purchase another vehicle from DCX after this one goes. As much as I like the PT, I refuse to give money to a company like Chrysler.
