Default Is it just me?

When I saw this photo for the first time, I had the uncomfortable feeling I was looking at what might be the next series PT Cruiser. It's the Dodge Caliber to go on sale in Europe as an '06. I can visulize it with the Chrysler corporate grill. It may also replace the Neon. What are your thoughts? More photos on Autoweek.com, home page left column.

I don't see this as a refreshed PT, but the next series change. For Europe it has a 2.0 liter engine, so overall size should be close to our PTs.

Hmmm. I wouldn't feel "uneasy" at all -- doesn't look too bad to me, especially if they make it distinctive & "classier" as a Chrysler. . .

I'd like a set of those wheels.
There has been speculation on this being the platform for the PT in a couple different magazines. Since I have a soon-to-be Classic PT, my main concern with the next generation is that they keep it desirable.

I don't care for the truncated side glass - looks too Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix to me. [:0] The front is acceptable.

That IS the neon replacement. It is going to have the 2.0l or the new 2.4l which is slated around 177 hp NA. There is also going to be a sedan version and a possible convertible. That is the new platform that we've been hearing about from Mitsu. I'll see if i can fool around with photoshop to make a chrsyler Caliber for ya'll.

Here ya go. This took me a little bit, some subtle changes, and the classic headlights as opposed to the round ones no one liked in my last photochop.

This is what I originally visualized. Those are 19in. wheels and there is plenty of room for 20in. plus. Lots of room for really big brake rotors (aftermarket).
