I have purchased 4 Damiler products in the last three years. Not sure that I would have been comfortable without the extended warranties. The warranties give me peace of mind.

i guess if we go for waranty then maybe the hundias will be the cars of choice. i got the 04 pt for the price the insurance and crash test but the warranty was a big factor. i have been driving chryslers for over 30 years and ther warranty has been a big factor. but i do shop for warrantys and honda, hundias seem to do better in this department. i have heard hundias don't hold up but i don't know that personaly so untill i have friends that get hundias and have problems with them i will belive they are a good car. yea i know we should buy america but the american car makers are driving use into the arms of the imports (hundia usa now) so i may just go hundia my next new car. bob p.

Hyundai's aren't as reliable as they want you to think. My friend is a manager at a big rental car change, and told me and his sister when she wanted to buy a Hyundai not to. She asked why, and he stated that of all the cars they send out to get repaired, the Hyundai's are #1 on the list, and actually cost the company the most money in terms of repair time vs rented out time. As for Mitsu's, all the Mitsu's I've ever worked on end up needing ring jobs after they get high in mileage, and start smoking up bad. My girlfriend had a Galant and that car gave problem after problem after a couple of years went by. She has sworn she will never buy another Mitsu. I really like the EVO's, but Mitsu has left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't pay that much money for an EVO and constantly worry if I'm going to have to rip the engine apart in a few years just to replace inexpensive parts like rings! [:0][B)] And don't get me started with Kia's! Let's put it this way, my uncle brought a new Kia and the starter went after only 3 months. That's only some of the problems I have heard about Kia's. Cheaply priced cars are cheaply made. While I haven't been too happy with DC, you'd have to take my PTGT's keys out of my cold dead hand, and even then you'd need a hacksaw to get them![

I have to say that the HYundai is actually a pretty reliable car, having seen first hand two of them, plus one my buddy had make it well past 100k without spending any money on anything other than routine maintenance.You can't take what happens to a car in a rental fleet and compare it to a personal purchase. I just bought my 05 PT convertible last week and the warranty was a very important thing, 3/36 bumper to bumper- 7/70 power train, and if I decide to keep it past 3 yrs I'm gonna spend the extra 2g's to keep the bumper 2 bumper for the remaining 4 yrs of the 7/70. Thats because I had a 91 shadow es convt turbo that really disliked having a head on the engine, damn thing kept blowing itself up. first at 50k then again at 72 k, just after all warranties ran out[xx(], thats why I opted for the slow nonturbo car this round. I really do hope this car stands the test of time, I wanted a pt the first time I saw one, but its taken me years to get past my last mopar experience, but I finally gave in when I saw this 05 midnight blue pearl/black top/ black and grey gut shining like a jewel in the lot, I was gonna go for an 06 sonata, but theres just something about the cruiser that I couldnt look away and had to have it, the best part wsa coming home and explaining to the wife why there was 4 seater convertible in the driveway as a back up car for our family of 5[}
] After a little fast talking and a promise to buy a new minivan after I sell my jeep she got over it. |
