Looks like the intercooler could get more air with the new front end, that is always positive. The tail lights appear identical to the aftermarket tail lights Crewzin and I have on our PT's.

Interior is a mixed bag. May grow on me but certainly no retro feel to the interior. By putting the clock where they did they moved the A/C controls down low which isn't great.

All in all, not too bad. They had the opportunity to really mess it up and these days I am thankful when they don't ruin something completely. I suspect that the restyle will grow on us. If it is enough different that it brings in new buyers, it is a good thing for all of us.

I think they were trying to make it look to much like a STi, with the front head lights. The rest...ah.. Sometimes, not alot of changes are a good thing. I DO like the analog clock though. I was thinking of getting some heritage series gauges for mine.

Wasnt the PT cruiser, born to reminisce about the days of old? While yeah, some change is good. Going more modern isnt. How is this going to look when trying to go retro, liek alot love to do? It will look just plain nasty with everything squared off.

I like the power increase in the GT (now 230 hp). If their claim of a 5 db quieter interior is reduced road and wind noise, that is good. If they have further quieted the exhaust or engine, that is bad (personally opinion).

I wonder if someone will come out with an aftermarket body kit to convert it back to the original retro PT cruiser?

From the front, the 2006 model PT looks more like the GT Cruiser concept car from 2002

Sorta, I actually have that model, since it was the closest thing to my car. It still has a bit of the the lower grill.(the model) Not much, but a bit. But, had the good sense to keep the tear drop head lights. Back to the pics. Don't like what they did to the center dash AT ALL. What would have been cool to me anyway, if they had made the center dash and gauge cluster and airbag cover all carbon fiber, all matching, like my shift knob would have been nice. The squared off and brushed silver stuff sucks. Now the bump in HP on the GT is nice But, 15 HP for me is not such a big whoop. So, the changes won't get me to run out and buy an '06, not even.

I was scheduled to dump my 03 for an 06 as terms of my lease. Now I am not sure I should just keep paying on my lease till the new new model comes out like I thought this would be!!

I was wondering when they'd revise the front fascia.

I have been waiting on two things on a new model before buying - more horsepower and a better turning radius.

Looks like they're one for two. Good in baseball. But I'm a football fan.
