Default How to Secure the hatch for a large load

Yet another video I made detailing how to secure the trunk hatch if you are unable to close it.

Good idea, but I would pad the cord/wire with some kind of cloth to keep from wearing the paint.

I've used a small bungee cord with a hook on each end, works well.

With the hatch open and driving it has a venturi effect sucking exhaust fumes into the car. Keep the cabin windows open if you want to live.

I'd always read that when a rear hatch is open in any station wagon type vehicle to drive with all the windows rolled UP and the blower fan on high, drawing outside air. Then the air at the rear has nowhere to go when it tries to get sucked in, and the fan keeps the cabin full of fresh air.

If you leave the windows open the flowpath is in from the back and out them, past you.

Aha, yup, page 61 of the 05 manual has that as a warning.

I used to occasionally haul way too much crap in a K-Car years ago and it always seemed to work.
