Re: Leak in the hard line for rack & pinion

Really - which line is leaking and what is your model year and trim level.

When I bought my kids 01 in 09 it had a bad P/S fluid leak, it was on the hard part of the low pressure hose (it believe)...

Re: Motor Mounts

When I did those I ordered the parts that were correct for my non-turbo 06 BASE Model with Manual Tranny from Rock-Auto. I recall the ordering was not too well defined between which parts to get. I...

Re: Ignition key questions

Re: Well my cruiser is still alive! Minor issues need help with.

Your Mech is right. That's an old trick, but you really need some gaskets that are up to the duty of being doubled. That little bit will change the compression a good bit. I am sure there is a...

Re: 2006 PT Engine Knock..Like New Vehicle

Maybe so .... but I can state that here in the HOT HUMID South, our mileage must vary. I bought my 06 with 53K on the ODO, it was 3 years old and had sat for about 12 months before I bought it. I...

Re: New to the PT Cuiser

I did all that to the tee during my tenure with my Cruiser, except the full synth oil. But in addition to this, if you ever had any electical parts go out, O2 Sensor, Cam Position Sensor, coil, etc...

Re: Ultra Guage and true mpg

Those MPG's sound close to real. I did not drive my 06 on highway much and with 1 size wider than stock tires on the steelies I got about 22 pretty regularly in city and the off the beaten path...

Re: Well my cruiser is still alive! Minor issues need help with.

Green works great in my fully cast iron 4.9L Straight Six, or my 351 Cleveland, but is not a good mix for the metals of the 2.4L Mopar engine in your car, even though it would have matched my paint...

Re: Are all PT Cruisers the same size?

I got $3000 for the tradin on my nearly problem free (I still have parts for those problems) 06 Base with Manual Transmission with a new cooling fan ($400) and 6 month old timing belt - with water...

Re: tapping noise when decelerating...please help.

Motor Mount? Did they point to it. Most of the time the torque arms are the problem, hardly hear of motor mount issues here but I have heard of a few. Did they point the part out to you, was it in...

Re: 2006 PT Engine Knock..Like New Vehicle

I hear ya .... those are about all the problems I ever had except the other common one you failed to add .... lower control arms.

I agree ... in part. The 12 months between oil changes is...

Re: Well my cruiser is still alive! Minor issues need help with.

Since the engine sounds like it was taken apart - new head gasket, head work, waterpump and hopefully timing belt and tensioner - I would go around to the back of the vehicle and smell for a leak! ...

Re: Ignition key questions

I will ask, she traded that car at the beginning of the year and that was about 3 years ago. It was about the time she had started having the aftward continuous problem with her locks jumping up and...

Re: Well - Not a New Member

I sure hope so. If not that will only leave GMC at one of the oldest dealerships in NOLA ... being they already lost Olds and Pontiac, the only two they never had was Chevy and Cadillac, oh and...

Well - Not a New Member

I just can't seem to locate my New Member thread from over 4.5 years ago in this sub forum.

Sadly - as of about 1900 CST today we are no longer a PT Family. I had much fun with my 2006 and my Kid...

Re: 15 " tire plus

Re: Subtle shake with ticking while driving

It may be more than one problem. As for some of the wear and noise problems, you had it right with the control arm, the bushings are problably trashed if the balljoint is worn. My 06 has about 97K...

Re: 2006 Jack point Confirmation - front

Have you ever really looked there? On my car they are rather hollow and have fuel, return fuel and brake lines running through them. I am down south with a rust free car and the rocker pinch weld...

Re: 2006 Jack point Confirmation - front

I just use a piece of 2x4 with a slot, VW uses the same type of frame pinch weld and it works there too. I have seen something like you have there, must have been on a VW part site since I have been...
