Re: Turbo transmissions? non turbo?

Manual trans - all years Getrag - different from non-turbo.
Auto - PTs had 2 auto trans - 41TE and 40TE.
40TE has 2 clutch packs, 41TE has 4.
All turbos have 41TE.
All '01 - '03 PTs had 41TE -...

Re: Adding Fog lights quick Question

I think it's fuse 11 - anyway, the cover to the fuse block should say "fog lts" or such and I think it's 10A? (again, it's on the cover).
If you have the sockets there, the rest ought to be in place...

Re: Just Bought a PT

Change the oil, take it out on the highway and floor it and blow the carbon out.
Used to be called the "highway tune-up".

Re: Bucking, jerking, cuting out, finally SOLVED

Yes, too many do not ever let us know the outcome of their problem - they just disappear.

Re: Fan questions??

Given what you've done and the symptoms, sounds like a head gasket to me. There is a test to see if exhaust gas is getting into coolant which would confirm head gasket is problem - that should be...

Re: Hit a deer...thinking now about a bull bar type setup

I have "tagged" 4 hooved rats (my name for deer) with my 2 PTs. Only 2 were in the front, the other 2 hit me - one in passenger door, other on driver's door.
I think the solution is an old pickup...

Re: Engine oil ?

Not sure what you are asking. I have used synthetic in mine since it was new, change it every 5,000 miles, and do not use any oil, and I just passed 130,000 miles.
Yours and mine are single examples...

Re: Engine oil ?

All PTs came with regular oil.
Synthetic oil is better, period. The only reason not to use synthetic is to save some money when buying the oil, but there is no question that synthetic oil is better,...

Re: What did you do to your Cruiser today?

Took advantage of an AdvanceAuto deal and got a jug of Mobil 1 and a purolator filter and changed the oil. Went to store right after and odometer turned 130,000 miles.
Love this car. :cool-yo:

Re: road noise, 2007 base model.

You correctly started this in Wheels, tires, suspension.
Tires can make a big difference.
TireRack tests tires and has user feedback ratings.
You could always move...:p

I like that they are aluminum.
If you get a price, please share the info. (I'd have to convince my wife)

Re: 2003 PT Cruiser

I'm too far away to be interested, and I don't want to "break your chops", but I suggest you put yourself in the shoes of a potential buyer. When I do that, numerous questions pop up -
- What is the...

Re: 2006 - loose turn signal assembly problem

Are you the original owner? If not, how can you be sure what was done in the past.
I'd look at the other side and compare the two bulb sockets - maybe a tab broke off?

Re: Oil Change

The manual says to change it every 6 months, regardless of mileage.

Re: Clutch and Brake fluid

How rapidly are you using brake fluid? It is normal for fluid level to go down as pads wear, that is not a "loss". New pads will bring level up again.

Re: Shuddering at 55

When was last time you had an alignment done? Tires balanced?
Try swapping front tires to back. If that helps, get balance & alignment.
