Re: Talk me out of buying a 'vert...

I've never owned a convertible, but I'd just like to say what a PT Convertible owner said to me, after she had been driving hers for a while......

She had an early model Pt which she loved a lot,...

Re: Multi-Function Lever

Fixed!? I don't think so..... replaced, yes, fixed, I doubt it.....

Why would you buy one from autozone for $118 when you can buy it from a dealer for around $70 or so, unless the price has risen...

Re: Anyone with a Carfax account?

From personal experience, any carfax isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Read their website before you order. It will say that they can only report info that is reported to them, (no kidding!)

Re: Battery Cables and terminals

Don't know about "wearing" out, but they DO go bad! On a 2003 we used to have, the pressed-on lug that attached to the starter went bad. Car wouldn't turn over sometimes, then would magically...

Re: Jay Lenos Garage

The only time I heard Leno talk about PT Cruisers was when he had Wanda Sikes(sp?) on the show. I don't remember the exact words, but it was a REAL big put down of the PT, Chrysler, and American...

Re: Do PTs rust easily?

If you're talking about Carfax, you're wasting your money, time, whatever, they are worthless, except for dealers to sell cars with.

I know, I have 1st hand experience, Carfax is a waste.....

Re: Oil Leaking

Well, oil in the spark plug well could indicate that the sealing ring, where the spark plug hole goes through the valve cover, is shot. Yeah, you're right, if the plug is burning clean, you probably...

Re: Oil Leaking

PCV valve and hose probably, does the other end of the hose go to the air filter canister? If so, open the canister, and check the sponge element that's mounted on the side, it's probably full of...

Re: Dash cracked

True! I've used dashmats before, and never had any problems with the dash on any of the PT's I've had. (Florida). One problem though, I used "dashhugger" dashmats, and I think they've disappeared...

Re: Got my PT. Big problems

First off, take a good look at the front of the radio. You'll find the 3-letter designation on the display glass somewhere, painted on, so you'll see it even with the radio off.

If you don't have...

Re: Got my PT. Big problems

If you do a search on "multifunction switch", you get a few hours of reading material, just on this site alone. If you can turn a screwdriver, it's a 20 minute repair, as Crewzin said, the problem...

Re: Center Dash Removal

Rather then pry out the bezel, you could also grab it by the hole where the window switches were, and carefully pull it out. It should pop out pretty easiliy.

Re: RIDDLE ME THIS??? WHY CANT CHRYSLER?

Why can't they get the mpg? First the design, it's as aerodynamic as a brick, and is pretty heavy. Second, the car/engine/transmission was designed in the late 1990's, a decade ago. What was the...

Re: 2001 vs 2002 cd-player differences?

It probaby won't matter, from what I remember, you can't swap out because the 2001 PT's use a slightly different wiring harness. Anyone know exactly what the difference is? It's been 8 years since...

While pulling the fuse will end the fog light problem, the switch, (that is defective) is still in place, handleing the lights, signals and the high beams. Those "live" circuits could also short...

Re: Factory navigation system out

Once you upgrade the software with a newer version, the old disk won't work. If I remember correctly, the owners manual tells you to never put a disk with older software back in the drive.

You...
