Re: Advise on removing wheels from PT on stands in a LKQ yard?

Hey Price, did you go to the junkyard yet and if so, did you have any luck? Seems we've lost focus on your original post.

Re: 1 Year with a $250 PT Cruiser

Kudos to you for your efforts, AJ. We all have to learn somehow and experience is the best teacher. Seeing as how you tackled a true pain in the neck timing job as a first effort, I'm sure you'll...

Re: Advise on removing wheels from PT on stands in a LKQ yard?

If they're on the rear, set the parking brake, Price. If they're on the front, you might try jamming a screwdriver in the cooling fins of the rotor until you find the sweet spot that stops it from...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Time for a new alternator, I guess, ed. OR maybe it's just the bearings. Did you put in new bearings when you replaced the brushes? That's usually a good idea. I'm sure they wear at the same rate....

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

^^^^ I've never heard that, ed, but maybe it's just a good thing to do for preventative maintenance??

Re: Clonc sound

Try a visual inspection first, ed. You MIGHT be able to see it. If not, you can try jacking the wheel up on each side just far enough to clear the pavement and try moving the tire up and down and...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

I'd check the wiring at the plug to the sensor, ed. It seems that if you wiggled it and it started, the wiring is the issue, not the sensor.

Re: What Guage?

You got a good deal. Just a couple of weeks ago, I let a neighbor borrow my 8 gauge cables because the "Walmart" cables he has wouldn't start his Tahoe. I looked at them and they were 18 gauge wire!...

Re: Head gasket going on friends PT. Is a gasket seal additive a decent last ditch fi

I don't care how much he's tempted by the snake oil. NEVER, EVER put that crap in an engine. He could just offer to donate it to a poor old broke ass guy that can't afford another one, but would love...

Re: Introduction

Welcome to the forum. I'm wondering what you did in order to join? I've been told by a couple of people that I tried to get to join us that they couldn't join, for some reason, even though they tried.

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

I've owned a LOT of Mopars over my 46+ years of driving them. I've always used whatever brand and # plug that came in them from the factory. 99% of the time, that has been Champion Copper Core plugs....

2002 Woody in Providence

Hey Guys, I just spotted this on Allpar. Just in case anyone is looking for a Woody.

Hello PT Cruiser crew,

My folks are selling their 02 PT Woody - figured I’d alert the board! (I used to...

Re: I like the "lived-in look"

I use the Purple Power to clean up oil spills on my driveway when I accidentally spill some during an oil change. That's all I use it for. I agree with Rob about some of the other stuff. It IS...

Re: Power steering loss

Don't just suspect the caliper, check that rubber brake hose too. It could have collapsed in one spot and won't allow the caliper to release.

Re: all lights flashing on cluster - No power loss

I don't have a permanent fix, but sometimes lowering or raising the steering column helps. Wires get pinched in there.

Re: To change or not to change... that is the question

I'm not familiar with the Getrag, but every manual shift gear box I've ever owned had a drain plug and a fill plug. Sometimes a funnel with a long piece of hose attached and someone to pour the new...

Re: A/C Belt Squeak

First thing I'd do is check the tension on it. Then look for a missing splash shield. It should be fairly obvious if one's missing.

Re: Wanted: 06 or younger pt GT 5speed

Why a GT? Too much power for a kid to learn stick. There's plenty of Toyotas, Nissans and other ricers there with sticks for sale. I'd get one of those first. That way if it gets torn up, you're not...
