Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
Sad end to the PT GT.
Last spring I sold the PT GT to my sister. Soon after I sold it, it sprung a leak which appeared to be the oil cooler. Oil in the water, but NO water in the oil.
She took...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?
Changed the radiator on the GT.
NOT an easy job. Especially since the aftermarket radiator I picked up, they changed the design from factory from one that has a bolted on neck at the top to one...

Re: Notifications gone wild!
Someone should probably mirror the best stuff from the site, because to be honest, that january date could easily be the end of the road. Even if the domain is on auto renew, having software run on...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
Sorry I edited that away because I wasn't sure if I'd described it well enough to make sense :P.... probably should not do that. Yes, it does seem as if that's what the front is doing. I've even...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
I think that's it right there. On the back of my car I have the KYB GAS-A-JUST. Which are stiff enough to not get bouncy. However, the fronts are Excel-G since they don't sell GAS-A-JUST struts.

Re: Wildfire strut tower bar - listed on eBay
I went with KYB and the KYB are quite bouncy. Honestly most of my bounce seems to come from the front ... Supposedly the Tokico's have less bounce. If you could get these and the fronts that would be...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
The bounciness is mostly just "springy" feeling. It doesn't keep bouncing like an old ghetto sedan, but it follows the road a little too closely. It is definitely a different feeling than a lowered...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
Been trying to find those. The only ones I can find are typically for things like sheet metal screws, etc, all much smaller than needed here.
As far as the sway bar tightening up the ride, I...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
I have a rear bar that I picked up from a junkyard that I need to slap on, but I need to get nuts to replace the missing captive nuts on the bushings. I have all the other hardware. Just that one bit...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
Installed Eibach lowering springs today, and KYB struts and gasajust shocks out back. Much tighter drive. However it is a little bouncier than I was expecting. Can't really afford a more expensive...

Re: Radiator fan solution. 03GT
In for info... No issue with my fan currently, but now that summer weather is here (Texas, we're well into the 90s now), I've noticed my fan is running pretty much constantly and usually on high...

Re: A/C Leak Question
Back in the day we used a halon leak detector. It's basically a black box you turn on, with a wand, and it sounds like a geiger counter. You wave it around various hoses and pipes. When the ticks...

Re: 2003 GT - "PT Salvage"
Finally changed the wheel speed sensors. Indeed, 3 of the 4 where bad. Changed them out, and the ABS/Traction/Brake lights all went out. So either they broke also, or it fixed the problem (likely the...

I used to use ramps on all my cars.... However, with my Abarth, my first manual trans vehicle, I found myself burning the clutch trying to get up the ramps... After that I ditched the ramps and...

2) Changed ingition switch (the electronic part)... I had ordered one part from...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?
Yeah that does go through my mind a bit.... am very careful to avoid boosting in 4th! ... though it does have a lot more firm footing once I put new torque struts & inserts. No more wheel hop, so...
