Re: Opions on choice for to paint front and back bumper areas on SOOO BIG

I've never seen chrome paint on a large surface like that. If your buddy doesn't have experience with it, I'd go with silver. Shooting gloss black is hard enough to keep from blushing . I would...

Re: Opions on choice for to paint front and back bumper areas on SOOO BIG

Not sure why you're hesitant on removing the skirts. If you are going to spend the money, you will get a better result pulling. I'd be worried it will look like a cheap paint over just masking. You...

Re: I'm embarrassed

Sometimes a 3rd vehicle is worth its weight in gold! I ended up pswing mine along to a niece that just graduated high school. Looking back now, I wish I would have kept it for my daughter...fantastic...

Re: 2006 Cruiser idling too high bad seals

Did all this start immediately after Aamco worked on it? If so, look around for a hose that's disconnected, the sound of sucking air, or take it back and ask them to look around for something they...

Re: Turbo intake hose repair

Double check your turque struts (motor mounts). If worn, the extra movement will cause these to tear prematurely.

Re: No Speedo?

Have you tried the "key dance" to retrieve a code. Doubt disconnecting the battery alone caused the problem. Since you have a CEL, I think it might be premature to do anything before checking for a...

Re: '08 Horn Problem

Stupid question, but are you sure it was the horn you disconnected? Any chance you might left a tool behind they may have migrated to another part of the car and might be causing these problems?

Re: 02 PT starts then stalls immediately

Wonder if these bolts are prone to working loose. Maybe this is the root-cause to the many posts of folks trying to resolve a rough idle issue? I never did resolve mine, but i will have to check...

Re: Rough Idle!

If they didn't replace the intake gaskets, I'd suspect an intake leak for the rough idle.

Re: Problems charging

I'd start by checking the battery cable connections on bother ends, as well as, the entire length of the cables. You are not getting a good connection or there is a problem within the ignition...

Re: 2005 PT Touring Turbo hesitation before/after $1k repair

You can remove the IA and try cleaning it with some electronics cleaner and see if that resolves you issue. All you would be out is a few bucks for a can of cleaner. Sounds like anything this shop...

Re: Strange Transmission Problem - Maybe

Not to question your ability to check fluids, but when you say exactly full, Is that when checking warm or cold? If its full when cold, maybe yiu got too much fluid and its starting to foam, when...

Re: Headlight stays off, and rapid fire blinker

Check the socket where you are installing the headlight. At this age, they get brittle. You might have a crack or broken wire grounding out, as the car vibrates, shorting out the bulb.

Re: Full Size Spare Tire Mod

I'm sure it's very possible, but you might lose some ground clearance and astetics in the process with very little gain. Mount the full size spare and leave it at home. I've seen people drive on...

Re: Water leaking on passenger side

Just read your post again..do you only find water if you drive in the rain or have you found water in both situations (stationary)? If you are finding it in both situations, I'd say you got a leak...

Re: Torque values using an extension

In the aviation world, no calculations are required for extensions. Regardless of how many you use, as long as they are in line. There however is min/max range (10% if I remember right) For example a...

Re: I hope my pain means gain for someone else.

While it made no difference from a repair point of view..after 100K, its not a matter of "if" it will break, only when and where. Best to replace it, when you can control the when and where to get it...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

I've had good experience with kumho tires, but that price seems high for a 16 inch wheel. That's typical for what I pay for 17 inch tires, which tend to be a bit more expensive. If you don't mind...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

After 10 years of service and 105k miles, I ended up upgrading to a Pacifica and selling my PT to my college bound niece. For 2300 bucks I think she got a pretty good deal considering she got a new...

Re: Help!! Lost keys in vent on dash!!

Re: Help!! Lost keys in vent on dash!!

Unless i'm missing something, you might as well bite the bullet and take it to a dealership. It seems you are spending an awful amount of time and money to try and save a few bucks.
