Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Got around to my other MOT bits today, a pair of lower arms and both of the track rods at the ends of the rack. Originals so no flats for easy removal with a spanner - had to weld the inner ball...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Failed the MOT test on friday, welded a 6 x 1.5 inch horizontal patch under the middle of the sill on the right hand side (seat belt anchorage strength) on saturday and sorted out the handbrake...

Re: Headlamp levelling system on Gen 1

Have found that fuse #17 on the CRD for the UK market is for heated seats, however I overcame the load levelling motors problem by unhooking the battery for ten minutes to reset, just a guess or...

Headlamp levelling system on Gen 1

Does anyone know the location of fuses/relays for the headlamp levelling system or indeed the symbol on the fusebox for it. The headlamps themselves have what I think to be levelling motors on them...

Re: front-end Rumble/roar goes away turning to right...

My opinion only: When you are going around a right hander, you are taking the load off of the RH bearing and putting more load on the left hand one, if that's when the noise disappears then it's...

Re: HOW MANY MILES ON YOUR PT????

Just turning 155,000 on my 03, still 45 mpg and just the odd P00F0 error on startup occasionally, rev it slightly twice, restart and it's gone. Disappears for a week or two but always comes back....

Re: P00F0 error code

Update on this, eventually (nearly 2 years on) this developed into a blown diesel injector seal and has been dealt with. After originally changing all the injectors 6 years ago I suppose I should...

Re: No start after new timing belt

Can't remember what it was but there were lots of reports on here about ignition lock unit problems at one time.

Re: scan tool for CRD UK spec?

As another update to this, up to now the problem still hasn't returned so the scanner worked well for me, I only kept it until I was happy that the problem had gone and then ebayed it for what I had...

Re: Tires/wheels noisy

As said above turning left would load the other front bearing so if turning to the left, it's most likely to be the right hand front bearing and I would start there.

Re: Cheap alternative to dealer cut keys and key fobs?

In the UK it's different again, we didn't get the panic button (gen1 anyway) so couldn't program any keys or fobs without the dealer kit.

I paid 30 to have a second key programmed by Timpsons who...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Caught the left hand sill (rocker) panel a nasty one on a new high kerb, it'll have to wait for hot and dry unfortunately.

I've now ordered a paintless dent removal kit as it's fixable without...

Oh that's sad Myckee, head over heart is usually a bit of a bummer though.

Re: Brake Rotor Warped????

If you wanted to try it though, you could fit two or three of the wheel nuts through larger nuts or a few washers or similar as spacers to replicate the wheel being on there and holding the rotor on...

Re: Loosen Parking Brake

As said previously it does need to be upright to remove the console. You are removing the effect of the clockspring on the tension by inserting a drill bit or something into the base of the lever...

Re: SOONERCRUISER's Panel Van Conversion

For my twopennorth Frank, I think the squareish one is the wrong shape for the car anyway. The black grommet on the round one will make you think it's meant to be that way.

Re: P00F0 error code

A different one today, again not on the normal list - P01A4 - again erase and not returning. Possibly a fraction down on power after it lit up and now back to normal.

Car is a diesel 2.2 CRD

Re: Adjusting New TYC Headlamp Assembly

Is the end of your T20 torx still attached to the headlight body, it's very easy for them to pop out during install. (comment based on standard rhd headlights in the UK).

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Welded up the rear end of the left hand side sill on saturday and now all good, wasn't anywhere near as bad as the other. bubbles but no perforation and about 4 inches square needed. Waxoyled both...

Re: Would you buy this redesigned PT?

I'm surprised but yes, I quite like the look of that. I can also see Handy's storm trooper allusion though probably wouldn't have thought of it that way without it being pointed out.

If available,...

Re: What did you do to your PT today?

Cut out the old and made / rewelded a patch approx 7 x 5 inches at the rear of the right sill (rocker panel). What a mess it was to start with, rest of the structure that side seems quite solid.

But on the bright side, maybe you can't hear that occasional 'strange noise' anymore.:D

Re: Parking Brake Adjustment

The adjuster is in front of the spring, I find it easiest to shine a torch up close and look from behind from a bit of a distance but if you can see the spring ok you are almost there.
