Default Factory Car Alarm

Is their anyway to change the sensativity on the factory alarm? My wife works near train tracks and at least 3 times a week a train will set the alarm off.

You didn't mention the year/model. There is no shock sensor on regular PT's factory system. They only use hatch and door switches. Check your owner's manual.

sorry for leaving out the important detail. its a '01 base model. I would look in the manual but I don't have one. could it be a loose wire? Where would I look??

like purple04 said, there is no shock sensor on the factory alarm. just checked my owners manual and no mention of it. only goes off when a door is opened without a sentry key (do you have the sentry key system and the factory remote door locks?). and i cannot find any info about an optional chrysler motion sensor. on base models i believe the alarm was an option, so it is quite possible you have an aftermarket unit. think best bet would be to head to a car stereo shop to have the system checked.
