Default Rattling rear!

I have a 12" sub in the back and I have been trying to eliminate the rattling in and outside of my PT. I have accomplished the front area around dash, but I have a problem. The rear end rattles. I have narrowed it down to the PANEL and the connection between the latch and bar for the rear hatch. Maybe some of you have had this problem before.

You can't hear the sound from inside the car, but you can hear it outside of it, especially on low rumble.

The license plate has been silenced and now the last is just the rear hatch. I am not sure what would be the best solution, so I am open to trying out suggestions and finding the best one.

Thanks ahead of time for anything (maybe a good link somewhere).

No one has any kind of solution?

Well here is what I tried doing already... I tried taking off the back panel and using some dynamat behind the panel (had to use 2 big peices of it) and it helped a little bit where it was rattling on the corners of the trunk door (can barely hear it now). The center is still bugging the hell out of me though.

I can't figure out how to solve that problem yet. I tried using tape around the metal bar but then the door of course didn't latch right... Gonna see if there is some sort of "plastic coating" that I could either spray on, or wrap... hmmmmm ceran wrap... that's an idea. Hope it won't melt with the 115 degree heat bleh.

Just posting what i've done just incase anyone is having that problem.

Aren't there rubber stops on either side of the hatch? I know there are on the front hood. See if they screw up/down. If not, try to find a rubber cap to put over - browse Home Depot/Lowes - would make it a bit harder to close, but would put more tension on latch and kill rattle. [:I]

I'll try that. I had noticed when I put pressure from the outside pushing on the door, it stopped rattling (the center). Didn't really think much about the door stops and putting more force the other way.

Might be possible to put a small spacer behind the rubber stop to make it stick out a little more which would also put more force against the hatch, then I would have to get longer screws if the orignals don't grab.

Will post an update.

Thanks alot quicksilverdon [?]

DYNOMAT, or something like it should work. You can put it on the inside of the plastic panel so you dont see it. you should also put it on the hatch itself. I have also known of people that put on the back of there lic. plate and it stop that from rattleing as well. That should be your best bet. And NOT the spray on stuff.

FIXED

Worked fine, what I did was cut small lengthy strips of it and lined it around the panel (not completely underneath) and then installed it near the lever.

Now I don't even hear the rattle at all at regular listening level. When I turn it up, I can barely hear it but not noticeable in cabin or when 4ft from the car or so.

Thanks alot! Appreciate the help.
If anyone wants any pictures of placement, I can provide.
