Six-Speaker Upgrade

I went ahead and finally had the OEM speakers replaced. Head unit etc. to follow:

1. FRONT - Installed Blaupunkt ODca660 components. Blau tweeter comes with a universal mount that can be cut to fit the 3.5" factory bolt pattern. Easy fitment! I ran the wires above and behind the gauge/airbag panel terminating below the radio. Since I used oversized 6.5" woofers, I had to fabricate a 3/8" panel that allowed this deep speaker to mount forward and downward to clear the lowered window glass. (NOTE: if I had it to do all over again I would go with a standard 6.5" woofer and use the 6.75 - to - 6.5 adapters to make it easier.) The crossovers fit neatly under the radio on both sides of the switch panel.

2. REAR - Used Blaupunkt ODxa574 5X7s. Must use included black plastic base frame to clear the large magnets. On driver's side, break off residual tab at 6 o'clock that interferes with wiring loom.

I had a custom shop rewire all speakers to 12-gauge to support future power growth. The PT's interior is very TIGHT! If you have the time to figure out how to re-wire it yourself, I'd tip my hat to you... but I don't wear hats.
