in the front you have 6 1/2 speakers in the door, but you should buy a compent set with the tweeter and speaker, plenty of room to put the crossover in the door

The rear speakers are 6x9 if you plan on replacing those too.

If you are looking for direct replacement in the first generation the best fit for direct replacement without the use of adapters I believe is
Front 6 3/4"
Back 5x7

You can fit a 6 1/2" in the doors but most will require an adapter plate to fit.

And i dont think that you can fit a 6x9 in the rear. It barely has enough room for the 5x7.

Sorry, I'm bad. You're right, 5x7. I was guessing for the rear size. It's been so long since I changed them out. Could not remember.

When I changed mine out... I got an adapter but it still did not fit right... I had to trim out part of the plastic AND part of the door to get it to fit right. And plan on having a drill on standby because I am almost sure the stock speakers have 3 hole mounts, and any replacements will have 4. No biggie though.

sorry for the late response...
in short... after getting my new speakers WITH tweeters built in... I noticed an incredible performance increase in sound over stock.

Changing out tweeters would probably not do much difference to the overall sound quality. Probably placement of the tweeters would do the most good. With one 12" kicker in the back, the tweeters built in the speakers with that of the dash as well do the trick. Before I moved from stock speakers (no tweeters) just using dash... huge crap when listening to anything with bass and high's while sub is goin off. Sounded like the high's were drowning in a pool of mud.

All fixed now

BTW my speakers are polk db 570's at the back and 675's for the front. These are NOT component sets... but I didn't need them. They do have component sets of these though... check out crutchfield.com
