before i swapped the speakers i added the 80 watt mopar sub i picked up on ebay (great seller btw) and wow i did notice the cut-outs when i had the trim panel off the upper pillar in the rear. i'll have to pop it off to see if i see any wiring tucked down there.

I replaced all my speakers with kenwoods. You have to ditch those two tweeters under the dash and put 3 1/2 in there. Takes some grinding but well worth the effort. The reason your system doesnt sound as good with aftermarket speakers is the wattage of the aftermarket speakers is greater then the wimpy stock speakers. The stock P/T headunit is sorry at best. A low watt headunit will power low power speakers better then a low power headunit and average speakers. Im running a Rockford Fosgate Punch 500X for my mids/highs.

CREWZIN Were did you get your rear wood deck? Thats tight!

Sorry to say that the place I got my shelf and floor is (I guess) gone. The website doesn't work anymore. But there was a place that I was looking at that still is in business. Here's the website:

One thing u must remember is that U MUST get a speaker with the same depth as the OEM(very thin) or else ur window glass will bump into the back of the speaker. Again a pain to find out at the very end.
I put a thin layer of foam on the back of the speaker so that it wont rattle the rolled down window when you close the door! give er a try

i am running an older kenwood 5 channel amp with the stock deck. i used a line out converter from wal-mart. i have 6-3/4" pioneers in front and 6"x8" pioneers in back and a single 10" lightning audio sub. the rears dont seem to have made much of a difference, but my old contour was the same with a 6"x8" speaker. it might be the speaker design. i know that 6"x9" speakers usally pound really well.

I was wondering if anyone has some insight, on what would be the best speaker for the front door? The right front in my car sounds like crud. I have the 6 speaker system with the built in cd stacker. I think some mentioned that it is rated at 33 watts.
Is that per channel or total?
PEP or RMS?

How about depth? What speakers have been used with no issues on the inside of the door (window regulators)

Thanks

Boy! After 4-5 years of AF radios blasting in my ears, I have significant high-frequency hearing loss.
This is one mod I won't have to suffer through!
