Default XM Radio Antenna

I’m thinking about adding XM radio to my cruiser but would like some suggestions on the placement of the antenna. I don’t like the hockey puck antenna; I would prefer a glass mount on the side rear window. Has anyone done this and which antenna did you use.

Thanks

It has to see the sky, and un-obstructed. The hockey puck is paintable - the Terk model is. I don't think you could do much good side mounting, and I am afraid you may have too much signal loss if you try a thru-glass mount.

The antenna has been one of the biggest complaints about satellite radio; both XM and Sirius. Most of the aftermarket ones use self-adhesive pads and run the lead-in wired through the hatchback gasket. The stock antenna for the Sirius setup offered by Chrysler requires drilling a hole and passing the antenna wired through the roof.

I have the hockey puck antenna on my Ranger and the mini-shark fin on my Cruiser and move my Sony plug n play XM radio easily between the two. I am quite satisfied with the looks and reception of both.
