I want good sound in my cruiser, but the factory unit just stinks. I would like to keep the head unit though. The front speakers sound muddy to me. I bought a basslink II and having it installed on Monday(let ya know how that turns out). Has anyone used the 4sc mod. with the basslink and kept a the head unit. I dont need to tick the neighbors off, just sound good. Anyone have suggestions for speakers?

Well They installed the basslink... Sounds great at low volume. BUT if you turn it up, the sub cuts out????? I called the installers and infinity. They both say maybe my voltage is dropping too low. I dont think so, cuz even if I have the sub turned down w/ the remote and turn the volume up on the factory deck it still cuts out... even with no bass?????? Anyone have an idea???

With speaker-level inputs, the other possibility is 'overdriving' the input to the basslink and causing safety features to cut in.
Is it wired correctly? Do you have the proper switch settings for speaker level input? I have seen power amps drop into 'fail-safe' after accidently sending speaker-level output in when the input switch was set to 'preamp-level'. As for voltage: unless your lights dim with every beat, it's not a battery issue. If the installers used heavy gauge wire for the battery power feed (if they didn't there is the problem). They should have run a heavy-gauge power wire from the Basslink thru the firewall and straight to the positive battery terminal. As PT Cruiser battery terminals are prone to corrosion (blame the bean-counters at Cheapsler) it might just be voltage drop due to a poor power connection. If you paid for installation, the install shop should work with you to fix it.
