installing a cd player

I want to replace the dash tape deck with a cd player I bought on Boxing Day. It's a kenwood. Is there an after market of some sort of face plate that the pt will accept for the new deck. As you know the stock face does not have a nice neat rectangular shape. Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks, Dave

Dave, you didn't mention the year of your PT. If you have a 2001, see the following:

I've heard Chrysler may have changed the harness for 2002. Can anyone verify this and provide a vendor Part#?

I can't reply to vender pn but can to 2001/2002 differences. the radio harnesses/connectors are completely different between the 2 model years. The last I knew no one was making a conversion cable.

The wire harness on the 2002's is the same as the Jeep Liberty.

Here's a little more detail on a 2002 install kit:

I bought mine from http://www.autosoundgear.com. The kits are made by Best. The wire harness number is BHA1818. The radio mount is really cool - it has a pocket underneath the CD player that fills the 1/2 DIN slot that is the perfect size to hold the CD jewelbox while the CD is in the deck. The mount kit number is BKCDK636.
